Funny faces.
In last post I have published this drawing:
Have you ever tried to take a live-action movie and advance frame by frame while one of the character is talking? Sometimes you will notice they are making unwillingly funny faces, even inside serious moments. Funny but expressive. Without thinking about it twice I tried to apply that principle there. I fetched a mirror and told myself the script observing the expressions I did. Then I selected the most interesting expression and drawn it. Here she is saying <<you want me to take it off?>>. I have photographed her saying the "wa" syllable. Then I have applied this rule to some other drawings I did.
I have read a long time ago this lesson on the animation course by John K (it refers to Katie Rice's artwork). I did not study and apply it before to my drawings however, reason being I am still stuck on lesson #1. Still... I think I am not going to make simple pin-ups of smiling, or sad girls anymore... too boring. ;)

Very funny grimaces. The second one is my favourite, obviously.
